#LoveSwimming: escape the stresses of busy life

Updated: Mar 16, 2020

The swimming sector has released the next chapter in the #LoveSwimming campaign encouraging adults, in particular females, to escape the stresses of busy life by making time for a swim at their local pool.

Swim England are excited to announce the next wave of activity in the #LoveSwimming campaign.

Through this next wave Swim England aim to show adults, in particular females, that swimming is a great way to escape the stresses of busy life and improve mental wellbeing.

Mental health is becoming an increasingly talked about issue, with 1 in 4 British adults experiencing a mental health problem in any one year and 80% of mental illness is related to anxiety and depression (Mind).

“Escape” reflects the extremes of fast-paced modern life and the impact it can have on your mental health, in stark comparison to the unique environment offered by swimming.

This video features real women who have seen the positive effects of swimming in coping with their mental health problems. This comes following a recent YouGov poll which highlights swimming as key activity to help mental wellbeing, with over one million people with mental health conditions benefitting from the activity.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch via strategicpartnerships@swimming.org if you are interested in finding out more about the #LoveSwimming campaign, using the campaign assets for your own social media campaign or becoming a campaign partner.
